      Winnifred Drake Foss Wed to William Varrell
       Miss Winnifred Drake Foss, daughter of Ernest O. Foss of RFD 2, became the bride of William Morrison Varrell, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Varrell, 127 Cass street, last Sunday at the Rye Congregational church. The Rev. John N. Feaster of the Congregational church in Portsmouth performed the double-ring ceremony.
       The bride wore a white satin gown with a lace yoke and long sleeves terminating in points at the wrist, and a long train and a finger tip well caught to a tiara of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white gladiolus and baby’s breath.
       Mrs. Robert W. Clow, 236 Concord way, was matron of honor. She wore a blue taffeta gown with matching mitts. Robert Clow was best man. Bridesmaids were Miss Anne Moody of Fleet street and Miss Paricia Walsh of Woodbury avenue. Stephen Cacciatore of Cabot street, and Ernest Stafford of Union street were ushers. Miss Gerry Clifford of Washington D. C. was soloist. A reception followed at the home of the bride’s parents. The bride’s traveling costume was a glen plaid suit with white accessories. After a trip through the White Mountains and Canada the couple will live at 127 Cass street.
       The bride was graduated from Rye Grammar school and from Portsmouth high school with the class of 1945. She attended the University of New Hampshire for two years and was graduated from Plymouth business school this year. She is employed as secretary at the General electric company of Somersworth. The bridegroom was graduated from the Portsmouth high school in 1937 and is employed by the city.
