    2. [S4] Obituary.
      Cathrine Barth, was the daughter of Kathrine Barth of Germany, and was born at Dermstine, Rhine Bovarior, by Frankinthal, Germany, on the 25th day of July 1830. She died at her hme on East Jefferson street, Iowa City, Ia., November 25, 1896, at 2 o’clock a.m. When but a girl she came to America and cast her lot with the pioneers of Iowa, then carving their way through the rough edge of semi-civilisation and laying the foundation for the grand common wealth their labor and intelligence have etablished. On April 4, 1857 she was joined by marriage to Adam Gill, her present husband, and together they established their domicile in this city, and acquired the means of maintaining an honored existence throughout the closing scenes of their career. Five children still survive to comfort the stricken husband and father.
       She has always been a member of the German Lutheran church and the funeral will take place from the house here tomorrow at 1:30 o’clock, and at the church at 2 o’clock. Rev. J. G. Hoerlein having ministerial charge.
