      Huntington O. Allen, longtime resident of Boulder, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009. He was 94. The son of William B. Allen and Elizabeth Huntington Allen, he was born on February 15, 1915 in Jackson, Michigan. He married Kathleen Fischer on July 18, 1942, in Lansing, Michigan.
       He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from University of Michigan. From 1952 until his retirement in 1980, Mr. Allen worked at Rocky Flats for Dow Chemical Company and later Rockwell International. He was a member of Optimists Club, Rocky Mountain Climbers Club, the American Chemical Society, and the Society for Applied Spectroscopy.
       He is survived by daughters, Lynne Beach and husband Edward of Freehold, New Jersey and Lorraine Stockwell and husband Richard of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by a brother Robert and wife, Mary, of Knoxville, Tennessee, five grandchildren, David and Kevin Beach, Anna Lisa, Richard, and Mark Stockwell and one great grandson, Cameron Beach. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, and brother Gilbert Allen.
       Mr. Allen was an accomplished photographer. He loved to play bridge, read, listen to music, and spend time with his family. He enjoyed travel and camping. The quotation on his favorite ball cap read, “Old campers never die, they just pack up and move on.”
