      DES PLAINES – Joyce L. Bruns was born in Ocheyedan, Iowa on April 18, 1927. Her favorite childhood memories were living on a farm, attending a one-room schoolhouse and spring violets blooming. A longtime resident of Des Plaines, she was a homemaker and she worked for Illinois Bell as a telephone operator. She passed away in Libertyville on August 18, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Gary Bruns; loving mother of Jennifer (Robert) Barnes, David and the late Frank Bruns; dear grandmother of Matthew Grant; fond sister of Mary Davis and the late Maurice Stevens; cherished aunt of many.
