      OKEECHOBEENorman J. Hamner Sr., 72, of Okeechobee died Monday, May 30, 2011 at his residence. He was born Sept. 2, 1938, in Tampa, to George Marshal and Mary Jane Hamner. He came to Okeechobee from Clarkrange, Tenn., in 1981. He was of the Baptist Faith and loved to hunt and fish.
       He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Winifred Homan Hamner of Okeechobee; sons, Norman J. Hamner Jr. of Williston, George A. Hamner of Okeechobee; daughter, Charlene B. Hamner of Okeechobee; mother, Mary Jane Pfenning of Okeechobee; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, three brothers; and three sisters.
