      BANKS, John Stanley (Jack) — 69, Waterville, Kings County, died April 28, 1993, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Waterville, he was a son of the late Henry and Gyenth (Chute) Banks. He was a graduate of Kings County Academy; Nova Scotia Agricultural College, Truro; MacDonald College, Montreal, obtaining a bachelor of science degree; Acadia University, obtaining a bachelor of education degree and Dalhousie University, obtaining a master of education degree. He taught high school in Brookfield, Colchester County and at Central Kings Rural High School, Cambridge, until retirement. He was a steward at Trinity United Church of Waterville-Woodville and a member of Waterville Eight, a double quartet, for many years. He lived most of his life in Waterville.
       He is survived by his wife, the former Eva Killen; son, James, at home; two daughters, Penny (Mrs. Glenn Foster), Penobsquis, N.B.; Margo, Halifax; brother, Gordon, Waterville; sister, Marjorie (Mrs. Ward Hallman), Pictou; several nieces and nephews.
