      FITCHBURG — Florence E. (Marchant) Smart, 90, of 5 Richardson Road, a retired clerical worker, died Sunday at The Highlands Long Term Care Center after a long illness.
       Her husband of 12 years, Roger G. Smart, died in 1965. She leaves a daughter, Betty J. Whitney of Fitchburg; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Owen R. and Selma M. (Ecklund) Marchant, and lived here until moving to Lunenburg in 1964. She returned here in 1990. Mrs. Smart worked in the production department of General Electric, retiring in 1966. She was a member of Christ Church Episcopal.
       Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are noon to 1 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Church Memorial Fund, 569 Main St., Fitchburg 01420.
