Paradise resident
Eunice I. Elmer died Friday afternoon at a Chico hospital. She was 81. Born Sept. 9, 1906 in Crystal City, Manitoba, Canada, she became a U.S. citizen in 1962. She moved to Paradise in that year from Redondo Beach, Calif. Her husband of 59 years, Christ, died in October 1987 in Paradise.
Mrs. Elmer was a homemaker for her adult life. She is survived by two sons, Clifford R. Elmer, of Diamond Bar, Calif., and Ronald D. Elmer, of Paradise; daughter Adrena E. Elmer, Paradise; brother Stanley Rand, Winnipeg, Manitoba; and sister Esther McCloud, Winnipeg.
A graveside service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, at the Paradise Cemetery with Rev. John Foster of the United Methodist Church of Paradise officiating. All services were handled by the Rose Chapel Mortuary.
