      Catharine H. (Moyer) Clawson, 93, wife of the late Alexander R. Clawson, Sr., died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Phoenixville Hospital. She was a long time resident of Collegeville, but most recently lived at Manatawny Manor, East Coventry Twp.
       Mrs. Clawson was born on September, 12 1917, in Collegeville, and was a daughter of the late Robert K. and Ella H(auseman) Moyer. She was a 1935 graduate of Collegeville High School. Mrs. Clawson was the tax collector for Collegeville Borough from 1958 to 1990. She also was a sewing machine operator, in the costume division of the Collegeville Flag & Mfg. Co. Mrs. Clawson was a member of Trinity Reformed Church, United Church Of Christ, and its Trinity Sunday School Class. She also was the first president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Collegeville Fire Co.; a former member of the Collegeville Community Club; a former member of Rebekah Lodge, Independent Order Of Odd Fellows, Collegeville; a former member of the Montgomery Co. Tax Collectors Assn.; and a former member of the PA Tax Collectors Assn.
       Mrs. Clawsons is survived by her sons, Alexander R. Clawson, Jr. and his wife, Joanne (Krieble) Clawson, The Villages, FL, John R. Clawson, Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth (Rothenberger) Clawson, New Hanover Twp., and James C. Clawson and his wife, Sharon (Coda) Clawson, Steven Point, WI; her siblings, Betty Jean Keene, Haddonfield, NJ, and James C. Moyer and his wife, Sarah (Zahnd) Moyer, Limerick Twp.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
       She was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert H. Moyer, Kenneth H. Moyer, George H. Moyer, Josephine H. Moyer, Stanley I. Moyer, and Dorothy F. Miller.
       A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, at Trinity Reformed Church, U.C.C., with the Rev. Dr. Martha B. Kriebel, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be private, in Augustus Lutheran Cemetery, Trappe. Friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, Monday, at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Reformed Church, UCC, 532 E. Main St., Collegeville, PA 19426; or the Collegeville Fire Company, 29 E. 5th Ave., Collegeville, PA 19426. Arrangements are by the Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.
