    2. [S4] Obituary.
Albert O. “Buddy” Junkins, formerly of Lisbon Falls, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2005. He was born in Marblehead, Mass. on December 30, 1920, son of Margaret (Harrington) and Albert E. Junkins. Albert attended Bonny Eagle High School in Standish, and later went on to join the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1939.
He later enlisted in the U.S. Army prior to World War II. While in the service, Buddy served in North Africa, Tunis, Algeria, Bizerte, Sicily, Rome, Arno, Naples, Foggia and the invasion of Southern France. He was a driver of wheeled vehicles, marksman, rifle and first class gunner. He received nine battle stars, one Silver Star, five Bronze Stars, and four Bronze Stars with Arrowhead for assault landing.
After the service, Albert settled in Lisbon Falls. He met and married his best friend Madeline Ouellette, in 1948. Together, they raised a family of two daughters and a son.
Buddy went to work for the Town of Lisbon until his retirement, where he began as town constable and later created the Lisbon Police Department, where he served as police chief for 25 years.
He was a member of the Lisbon Falls VFW, the American Legion, and the DVA. Buddy was a man who would give you his very last dime. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Buddy was the kindest and most honest man that anyone would want to know.
