      Mrs. Gilmore Dies In England
      HASTINGS, England (AP) — Mrs. Evelyn King Gilmore, mother of Associated Press Correspondent Eddy Gilmore, died here today. She was 84. Born in Mississippi, Mrs. Gilmore was the daughter of the late Col. Ben King, organizer of the Mississippi Minute Men in the Civil War. Col. King was also at one time poet laureate of Mississippi. Mrs. Gilmore spent most of her lire in Selma, Ala. She was a graduate of Wesleyan College, Macon, Ga. She was the author of many magazine articles and several books of poetry. Mrs. Gilmore came to England in October to live with her son and his family. Shortly after her arrival from Alabama, she suffered a stroke. She died in the St. John’s Nursing Home here,
      Alabama Journal (Montgomery, Ala.) Tuesday, December 11, 1962.
