      Karl Wendell Lacey, 1937-2007 – The death of Karl Lacey, husband of the late Irene (Wiemelink) Lacey, occurred on September 17, 2007 at Humber River Hospital in Toronto, ON. Karl was born on August 15, 1937 in Upper Hampstead, NB to Wendell Lacey and the late Helen (MacAlpine) Lacey. He was an independent cab driver in Toronto, until his retirement. Karl was a member of the Toronto Maple Leaf Branch #266 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
       Besides his father Wendell, he is survived by two brothers: Lloyd (Janet) of Edmonton, AB and Blair (Marsha) of St. Stephen, NB; three sisters: Marie (Jack) Keirstead of Fredericton, NB, Audrey (Frank) Hand of Rothesay, NB and Joan (Harry) Cooper of Garnett’s Settlement, NB; several aunts, nieces and nephews.
       At Karl’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Following cremation in Toronto, there will be a public graveside service in Upper Hampstead Baptist Cemetery, Upper Hampstead, NB (Mid-October). Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424).
