      NEWTON — Harold Henning, 70, died Sunday July 2, 2006, at Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing. Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006 Pence - Reese Funeral Home Newton, IA. Burial will be held at the Newton Union Cemetery Newton, IA. Visitation with friends after 5 p.m. Tuesday with family from 5 to 7p.m. at Pence Reese Funeral Home in Newton. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Harold’s name.
       Harold is survived by his son, Howard and Chrissy Henning of Newton, IA. daughters, Mindy and Jamy Andersen of Rhodes, IA, Ellie and Josh Stafford of Newton, IA, Mandy and Bill Madoll. Also, 14 grandchildren. Brothers, Bob and Helen Henning of Banard, IA, Jim and Mary Henning of Kellogg, IA, Tom and Judy Henning of Chester, Vermont. Sister, Chrystal, and Rod Walker of Newton, IA. Several nieces and nephews.
       He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Bill, Ronnie, Skip, Dick. Sister, Alberta Meyer and several nieces and nephews.
       He was very involved in the V.F.W.; For many years he was in the V.F.W. color guard; He liked fishing, hunting, bingo, and Prairie Meadows. He was a member of the : V.F.W. Newton Post 1655. He served in the US Army for 16 years, and worked many years as regional manager for Vicker’s service stations and helped his brother in his roofing business. He was born to Albert Carl Henning and Minnie Viola Redding April 25, 1936 in Newton. Iowa.
