      Jessie Alta (Massacar) Noble, passed away on January 27, 2010. She was born May 8, 1928, in North Boston, New York, to Clarion and Ada (Rollins) Massacar. She spent most of her life in Toledo, Ohio and surrounding area. She married Paul Alonzo "Bud" Noble on April 11, 1947.
       Alta is preceded in death by her husband on April 14, 1987 and by sisters, Clarice Owens, Grace Hoover and Harriett Hardy.
       She is survived by her sister, Ethel Quackenbush. She is also survived by her loving children, Rin (Mark) Walker of Cape Coral, Florida, Barbara and Ruth Noble of Salinas, California, Margaret Colvin of Curtice, Jul Noble of Lyle, Texas and Sue (Dean) Notte and James (Gretchen) Noble of Cape Coral, Florida. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, Misty and Joshua (Rin), Dawn and Margie (Margaret), Zachary, Joshua and Danielle (Jul), Jamie, Brett, Kayla, Gaige and Brenna (Sue) and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
       Alta loved to travel visiting her family from coast to coast. Never one to have still hands, she loved to crochet, knit and sew. She enjoyed welcoming new babies with crocheted sweaters. She was active in the doll club and the Good Bears of the World. She was an avid collector and gardened in her spare time. She was active in the volunteer group at the Mercy Health Partners, having worked as a Switchboard Operator at the former Riverside Hospital for several years. In her younger years, she was a Scout leader and enjoyed playing the piano at her church. Alta had a smile that would light up a room.
       A memorial service will be held at Echo Meadows Church of Christ on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at 10:00 am, 2905 Starr Avenue, Toledo. A private burial at Whitehouse Cemetery will take place at a future date. The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Hospice on Detroit Avenue for their heartfelt care. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Echo Meadows Church of Christ.
