      BUXTON — Llewellyn “Pud” Appleby, 82, husband of Dora York Appleby, died Friday [17 Feb 1984] at a Portland hospital following a lengthy illness.
       He was born in Saco, son of Llewellyn and Katie Cole Appleby, and attended schools there. Mr. Appleby worked many years as a self-employed farmer at hs home in Buxton. He was a member of the Masons, the OES, and a founding member of the Chicopee Fire Department here.
       In addition to his wife of Buxton, survivors include two brothers, Maurice Appleby of Buxton and George Appleby of Bar Mills; and a sister Doris Gochie of Saco.
       Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Neal and York Funeral Home, 76 State St., Gorham, with spring interment in Pine Grove Cemetery.
