      BURLINGTON, Nov 13 – The death of Mrs. Rena Sophia Howell, wife of Leslie Howell, of this community, occurred this (Wednesday) morning, following an illness of two years, the last six months of which she was confined to her bed.
       Mrs. Howell was born at Weston, in 1880, a daughter of the late Reuben and Mary Chase Howell, of that place, and was married to Mr. Howell in 1906. She had lived with her family at Weston, Berwick, Welsford and Kingston before they settled there. At Kingston she became a member of the United Church, and retained that connection until death.
       She was an active Red Cross worker, and was esteemed in the community in which she lived for her interest in many worthy causes.
       Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters and a son, two sisters and 13 grandchildren. The daughters are: Mrs. Fred Sweeney (Genevieve), Viewmount; Mrs. Arthur Wood (Bertha), Canning; Mrs. Everett Saunders (Margaret), Burlington. The son is Donald Howell, veteran of World War II, now taking a training course at Windsor, NS. Mrs. L. Margeson, Gilmount, N. H., and Mrs. Annie Langille, Somerset, are the surviving sisters.
       Funeral services are to be conducted by Rev. C. Daniel Matheson, pastor of Berwick United Church, at Lindsay’s Berwick Funeral Home, at 2 o’clock, Friday afternoon, and burial is to be in the family lot in Berwick Cemetery.
