      Thelma M. Miller, 86, of Dallas Center, died Friday, December 28, 2001 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines of complications of cancer surgery.
       Thelma Miller was born in Grimes and had lived in the Grimes, Minburn and Dallas Center areas all her life.
       She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry; and three sisters, Garland Friar, Rita Gates and Helen Fox.
       A son, Larry Friar, of Dallas Center, survives.
