      ROCKFORD — Warren Allen Dayhoff, 77, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord at 5:05 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008. Born April 3, 1931, the son of William and Lucille (Stukenberg) Dayhoff. A lifelong Rockford resident, Warren graduated from Rockford West High School in 1949. Married Shirley May Fagerstrom on Jan. 11, 1951.
       He worked as a baker for many years at both Colonial and Sunbeam bakeries. Warren retired from Rockford Memorial Hospital after 26 years. As a former member of Loves Park Evangelical Free Church where he was baptized, his faith was a constant part of his life. Warren was always happiest when he was busy. He loved family reunions, liked to make people laugh, and will be missed by many. He held a special place in his heart for his granddaughter, Angel.
       Survivors include his wife, Shirley; son, Stephen and his wife, Patricia; special granddaughter, Angelique Diane Sims (Lovelace); great-granddaughter, Arynn Mishelle Sims; and many cousins, including Linda Wilson.
       Predeceased by parents; brother, Lee Earnest; infant daughter, Susan Marie; and infant son, Michael Lee.
       Funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 W. State St., Rockford, with Chaplain Joe Militello officiating. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the funeral home. Burial in Willwood Cemetery. Special thanks to Transitions Hospice and the staff at Rockford Supportive Living. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
      Rockford Register Star Oct. 27 to Nov. 2, 2008.
